Gym & Fitness Studio Installations

A studio installation has to survive twelve classes a day and still look like the launch video a year later. We design the linear LED, the pixel-mapped ceiling, the screens and the sound as one system, commission it in the room with the instructors who will use it, and hand it over with class presets they can fire from a panel by the studio door.

Work is planned around the class timetable: night work where the studio cannot close, dust protection for the rest of the building, and every circuit documented before the ceiling goes back up. Permanent means permanent — fixings, heat, ventilation and access for maintenance are designed in, not improvised on the day.

Immersive linear LED and neon lighting

The immersive look starts with lines of light: LED profiles and neon flex run along the ceiling, the mirrors and the studio edges, so the room is outlined in colour rather than lit from above. Purple, magenta and deep blue are the usual palette, and we tune the whole room in the space under class lighting rather than on a colour chart.

Profiles are specified for a gym environment — impact protection, IP-rated connectors, drivers in accessible ceiling voids, and emergency and house lighting kept on separate circuits so a lighting scene can never take the escape route dark. All of it is dimmable in fine steps, so a 06:00 mobility class and a 19:00 sprint class can use the same room without either looking wrong.

Pixel-mapped ceilings and walls

A dot-matrix ceiling is a pixel-mapped surface, and we treat it as one: every dot is patched to its real position in MADRIX 5, which means an effect can travel across the ceiling as a wave instead of repeating per panel. That map is what makes the ceiling look like one object rather than a grid of tiles.

Effects are synced to the music through the class audio source, with a beat-driven mode for the instructors and a calm architectural mode for the rest of the day. Zones are mapped separately, so the ceiling above the bikes can run a different look to the one over the free weights.

Cycling and spin studios

A spin studio is a dark room with a bright screen and forty people facing it, so the screen design and the lighting have to be built together. We install immersive wrap-around screens or edge-blended projection, drive the class content from a player the instructor controls, and keep the room air and acoustics in mind — heat and humidity are what actually limit a projector, not brightness.

The instructor camera and the class content are switched from the bike podium, with a default look if nobody touches the panel. Between classes the room returns to a branded ambient state that also works for tours and photography.

Class sound, touch-panel scenes and maintenance

Sound is club-grade but zoned for a class: a punchy system that stays clean at the level an instructor needs over twenty bikes, with the reception and the free-weight floor on their own zones. The control layer is a touch panel with one button per class type — a "combat" scene changes the music source, the ceiling effect, the LED colour and the room level together.

Maintenance is part of the package: a quarterly service visit, pixel and driver replacement from held stock, firmware and show-file updates, and a remote support line for the studio manager. Remote diagnostics catch a failing power supply before a class does, and every call-out is logged against the installation record.
